Every December, the Franklin Center hosts a Breakfast with Santa on the second Saturday in December which serves over 300 needy Beaver County children and their families. Attendees enjoy a nutritious breakfast, have their photo taken with Santa, and receive a new book and toy.
In 2016, the newly formed Beaver County Community and Police Coalition will be supporting the event. The committee was recently formed to improve relationships between the community and local police departments. Officers from local police departments will be attending, helping Santa hand out gifts, and serving breakfast.
The Beaver Valley Chiefs of Police Association, and Fraternal Order of Police Lodges 4 and 26 are participating in trying to raise funds to provide the 300 plus children a joyful holiday. A Go Fund Me account has been set up to support the event at https://www.gofundme.com/breakfast-with-santa.
New toy donations are also gladly accepted. In addition to the Breakfast with Santa, the Franklin Center also conducts a winter coat distribution program for needy children and adults. New and gently used winter coats are always accepted, and may be dropped off at the Franklin Center offices at 524 Franklin Avenue in Aliquippa.
For more information or to make a donation, please call the Franklin Center at 724-378-2882 and ask to speak with Tina or Sandy.
